Autumn Walk with Border Collie

A dark-haired woman in a long charcoal-black coat and billowing white scarf walks through an autumn field, her gloved hand lowered toward a black-and-white border collie gazing up at her. Pale slender trees fill the left side with two slate-blue pigeons perched among the branches, while black crows drift across a misty grey-blue sky.

Rust, ochre and olive leaves swirl across the composition in a muted earthy palette of moss greens, rust browns, slate blues and ivory whites, with delicate white sprigs scattered in the foreground grass. Soft layered strokes and stylized folk figures lend the scene a gentle, overcast warmth suited to living rooms, bedrooms and entryways.
