Breaking Light Shore

A misty square seascape where an overcast slate-blue sky gives way to a luminous ivory cloud bank left of centre, darker storm clouds settling along the right horizon. Loose brushstrokes scatter small white gulls across the atmosphere, while a calm teal sea carries a faint pale path of reflection from the horizon toward the viewer.

In the foreground, a wave breaks in thick white foam surging diagonally across a warm sandy shore of ivory and beige, with dark wet rock and seaweed-brown accents at the foam's leading edge. Soft blended skies, layered translucent glazes and restrained impasto give the piece a quiet tonalist mood — a serene focal point for living rooms, bedrooms or offices.
