Seated Figure in White, Hands to Face

An expressive figurative oil painting of a seated woman in a loose white dress, head bowed and both hands pressed to her face, elbows raised. Her ivory garment is built from thick directional impasto strokes, while her skin glows in warm terracotta and ochre tones against the surrounding composition.

Behind her, broad blocky planes of sage and deep forest green are laid down with confident palette knife strokes, anchored by a dark shadow shape and a warm cream ground visible at the edges. The restrained palette and quiet posture lend the piece a contemplative, intimate presence.
